Yard Supervisor / Telehandler Operator – Venesky-Brown is recruiting for an experienced Yard Supervisor / Telehandler Operator to support civil engineering works at Glasgow Airport.
This is a hands-on role combining yard and logistics supervision with telehandler operation, supporting the safe and efficient movement of plant, materials, tools and deliveries across the project.
The role is expected to involve predominantly nightshift working.
Pay Rates
- £18.50 per hour – basic rate
- £24.61 per hour – applicable nightshift rate (x1.33)
- £27.75 per hour – applicable x1.5 premium rate
Key Duties
- Overseeing the safe and organised running of the project yard
- Operating a telehandler to load, unload and move materials, plant and equipment
- Coordinating incoming and outgoing deliveries
- Managing the safe storage and movement of materials and equipment
- Liaising with site teams regarding plant, material and logistical requirements
- Directing delivery drivers and operatives within yard and logistics areas
- Maintaining good housekeeping and ensuring access routes remain clear
- Carrying out daily telehandler and plant checks
- Supporting the movement of plant, tools and materials around the project
- Ensuring activities are carried out in accordance with RAMS and safe systems of work
- Supporting site management with general logistics and yard activities
- Following all airport, site, security and health & safety procedures
Essential RequirementsApplicants must hold:
- SSSTS
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler ticket
- Valid CSCS Card
- Previous experience working within a construction yard, logistics or materials environment
- Experience operating a telehandler on construction or civil engineering projects
- Good knowledge of site health and safety
- Experience coordinating deliveries, plant and materials
- Ability to take responsibility for maintaining a safe and organised working area
- A reliable, proactive and flexible approach to work
- Willingness to work nightshifts
Applicants will also need to meet the relevant Glasgow Airport security and airside access requirements prior to starting.
Previous experience working on airport, airfield, major infrastructure or civil engineering projects would be advantageous.
