Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Aberdeen, is currently looking to recruit x 2 Policy Advisors until 31st March 2027 on a rate of £21.77/hour PAYE – working 35 hours per week. This role will remote working with occasional meetings onsite in Aberdeen.
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application and be resident in the UK.
Responsibilities:
– Develop subject specific knowledge and expertise to support organisation agreement development and implementation in lead policy areas
– Lead on the preparation and delivery of related Scottish secondary legislation, working with solicitors
– Lead on the preparation of Ministerial submissions, correspondence, briefing, impact assessments, consultations, guidance material and other written material as required
– Lead on four nation coordination with policy officials in subject specific areas as required.
– Lead on handling and responding to external stakeholder enquiries.
Essential Skills:
– Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to balance competing demands.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to engage confidently with a range of people, including a proven ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
– Strong research and evidence analysis skills
Desirable Skills:
– Experience in evidence analysis, working with Ministers and developing secondary legislation
