Venesky-Brown are recruiting an experienced Civils Chargehand for ongoing works on the Sizewell Link Road at Sizewell C, Suffolk.
This is a long-term opportunity on a major UK infrastructure project and would suit an experienced Chargehand with a strong background in highways, roads, groundworks and general civil engineering.
Pay & Hours
- £23.46 per hour PAYE, depending on experience
- Approximately 50 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime paid at:
- x1.5 after 39 hours
- Saturday – first 4 hours tx1.5, then tx2
- Sunday – x2
- Lodge available where qualification is provided
- Weekly pay
DutiesThe successful candidate will support the supervision and coordination of a small civils team carrying out works including:
- Highways and road construction activities
- General groundworks and civil engineering
- Excavation, formation and reinstatement works
- Drainage, ducting and utilities works
- Coordinating operatives and allocating daily tasks
- Ensuring works are carried out safely and to programme
- Liaising with site supervision regarding progress and requirements
- Maintaining good standards of health, safety and housekeeping
- Supporting plant and labour coordination across the work area
RequirementsApplicants should have:
- Previous experience working as a Chargehand, Lead Groundworker or Civils Chargehand
- Strong experience within highways, roads, civils or major infrastructure
- Experience leading or coordinating small teams of operatives
- Good practical knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering activities
- A relevant CSCS/CPCS/NPORS competency card
- SSSTS
- Good understanding of site health and safety
Experience of drainage, utilities and working around underground services would be advantageous.
Previous experience on Sizewell C or other major infrastructure projects would also be beneficial.
