Venesky-Brown is recruiting for an experienced Civils Ganger to support an initial nightshift squad carrying out trial-hole works at Glasgow Airport.
The successful candidate will work closely with the project Foreman, helping to coordinate the day-to-day activities of the civils gang and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with site requirements.
Duties will include:
- Coordinating and supporting the civils / groundworks squad
- Assisting the Foreman with daily site activities
- Overseeing trial-hole and excavation works
- Organising labour, plant and materials
- Ensuring RAMS and safe systems of work are followed
- Supporting briefings and toolbox talks
- Monitoring productivity, housekeeping and site standards
- Flagging any issues or requirements to the Foreman
We are looking for candidates with:
- Previous Ganger / Chargehand experience within civils or groundworks
- Strong experience in excavation, drainage, ducting, utilities or infrastructure works
- Good understanding of safe digging and general site safety
- Ability to lead and coordinate a small gang
- Gold CSCS Card preferred
- SSSTS preferred
- Additional plant tickets would be beneficial
- Availability to work Sunday to Thursday nights, 21:00–07:00
- Availability to start Sunday 4 October
Location: Glasgow Airport
Start Date: Sunday 4 October
Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 21:00–07:00
Initial Programme: Approximately 5–6 months
Base Rate: £20.00 per hour
Monday–Friday nights: £26.60 per hour
Weekend nights: £30.00 per hour
This is a good opportunity to join a major civils project at Glasgow Airport, with an initial programme of works expected to run for approximately 5–6 months.
