Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Aberdeen, is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Driver on an ongoing contract on a rate of £14.28/hour PAYE – working Mon -Thurs 07:30-15:30 and Fri 07:30-12:30. This role will be based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
– Driving around emptying bins around designated areas.
– Grass Cutting using a variety of different types of machinery and tools, including Ride on Mowers, pedestrian mowers, strimmers, etc assisting when required.
Essential Skills:
– Must have a Full Class B UK driving licence
– Must be physically fit to undertake the full range of duties of the post
– A working knowledge and experience of Environmental Services teams and practices.
– The willingness to use the organisation’s digital platforms in relation to HR (CoreHr)
– The ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
– The ability to organise and prioritise workloads to deal with simultaneous demands and to achieve deadlines.
– The ability to work proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to the Line Manager.
– Understanding of the legal requirements, constraints and compliances for driving vehicles
– Basic Health and Safety Legislation and safe working practices
Desirable Skills:
– Obtaining a B+E and/or C1+E licence following appropriate training and testing
– Passing a pre-employment driving assessment at preferred candidate stage of recruitment process
– Undertaking periodic post-employment driver assessments
– Working outdoors in all weathers
– Obtaining PA1 and PA6 Pesticide spraying certificates within 1 year
– Being fit, and maintaining a general fitness, to undertake the full range of duties of the post.
– Undertaking required training in all aspects of Environmental Operations, vehicles, associated tools, machinery and equipment, including chemicals (e.g Graffiti removal chemicals)
